The story of the Palazzetto di Marmo

The owner and constructor of the house, Luigi Benvenuto, was a Roman master stonemason who moved to Castel Cellesi and built the house in 1906. Unable to expand horizontally, he decided to construct a building with three floors. Luigi and his beloved wife Maria rest in the burial grounds located on the hills of the village.

The current owners acquired the Palazzetto di Marmo in 2013 and used three years for extensive reparation and renovation of the property. The house has since been equipped with modern technology to match the requirements of today, including A/C and heating, Wi-Fi, satellite-TV and adjustable LED-lighting.

The renovation and renewal has been completed with the utmost respect for the original atmosphere, style and design; old marble elements and sanitation facilities have been refurbished, as well as the terraces that have been crafted to perfection by Fratelli Marmo, thus creating a unique experience in this humble and authentic village, located near to Unesco’s world heritage site, Civita di Bagnoregio - “The Dying City”.
